Feel Me, I’m Here With You
2021 - 2024

Feel Me, I’m Here With You is a romantic chronicle composed of photographic works produced between Dublin, London, Paris and Lisbon.

Initially intended to act as a personal photographic diary, the works emerged naturally as Hearns’ began documenting a burgeoning long-distance relationship. Beginning in Paris, he used photography as a means of adjustment, utilising something innately familiar to navigate the unfamiliar. The resulting images provide a tender and emotive insight into Hearns’ recent lived experience as he explores his evolving sense of self, newfound locales, and a newfound relationship.

“The development of this work has been supported by Photo Museum Ireland through its Emerging Artist Award 2021-2022. Photo Museum Ireland is delighted to support and encourage the growth of new creative talent in Irish photography. We want the Emerging Artist Awards programme to empower the recipients in developing sustainable individual practices, making a significant contribution to the exciting future of photography in Ireland. A zine edition of Feel Me, I’m Here With You was recently released on Hearns’ own collaborative imprint, SMUT Press.”

Select images from this work, alongside an accompanying soundpiece, were exhibited in Photo Museum Ireland’s Artists Project Space from September 15 - October 15, 2022. See installation view here.

Four photographic works from this project are housed in Photo Museum Ireland’s Archive of Irish Contemporary Photography. This selection has been re-exhibited as part of Imprints: Photography as Practice, taking place from February 22 - March 16th, 2024.

An accompanying 61-minute mixtape was produced to coincide with this publication and eventual exhibition, initially broadcast on Dublin Digital Radio on June 17th, 2022.
